Ethel Grossmann was born and educated in southern Manitoba and now lives in Oakville, Ontario. She has taken Bachelor of Arts courses at the University of Manitoba and Harvard University, has obtained a permanent first-class teaching certificate from Manitoba Teacher's College, has Grade VIII Piano, Grade XIX Voice, and Grade III Music Theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music, has taken interior decorating at Sheridan College, has art credits from many schools, and is a certified Administrative Manager from McMaster University.
Ethel has had work accepted in various juried shows, exhibited many times in group and solo shows, and was part of the Sequin Art Tour (Parry Sound) in 2008. She is a member of the Neilson Park Creative Centre, the Humber Valley Art Group, Visual Arts Mississauga, the Mississauga Watercolour Society, AIM (Art in Mississauga), the Franklin Carmichael Art Centre, and Six Degrees of Freedom.

The medium has a mind of its own which I must respect. It will always be a colourful, creative, changing challenge which will enable me to reflect emotion and spirit.”
